Statement of Faith

For the purpose of clearly establishing our identity as a Christian institution, committed to the cause of Christ and the growth of the Church in the world, we present this Statement of Faith as an expression of our Christian commitment and our intention to serve individuals and organizations of the Christian community at large.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and completely true in everything it affirms. It bears witness to Jesus Christ, the living Word, and is the supreme authority for our faith and conduct.

God

We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, who exists in unity as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — eternal, of infinite power, wisdom, and goodness.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of Jesus Christ, fully human and fully God, our only mediator before God. Through his life, death, and resurrection, God reconciled all creation to himself. We acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord over all things.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son and is one with them. He is the one who convicts, regenerates, and sanctifies; the abiding presence of our Lord who indwells, assures, and empowers the believer, and who gives life and power of witness to the Church.

Humanity

We believe that God created human beings in his own image, innocent and morally free to choose between good and evil. Through sin, human nature became corrupted, such that from birth there exists an inclination to sin.

Salvation

We believe that, through faith in Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven by the grace of God. Through repentance and faith, the believer is justified and born again to a new life, empowered by the Holy Spirit to live in obedience to Christ.

The Return of Christ

We believe that, in God's time, Jesus Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and his final judgment will determine the eternal destiny of every person.

The Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ in the world. In worship, the Church gathers to meet with God; in witness, it makes known the good news of Christ; and in fellowship and service, it lovingly attends to the needs of its own and of others.
